THE HOUSE
Mesón O Pote stands on Travesía del Progreso, the first of Betanzos’s two narrow streets known locally as calexas, in an area of the city renowned for its wine bars and eateries. Dating back more than forty years, this classic venue has been owned and run by Alberto García since 2006.

Mesón O Pote retains all the flavour of a traditional tavern with a touch of modernity thanks to its constant evolution. A friendly atmosphere designed to make tourists and visitors feel welcome and completely at ease.

A popular eatery that is the ideal choice for lunch or a more informal dinner. Portions and dishes made for sharing make this a great option for groups of friends, families or couples.

THE CUISINE
The philosophy of Mesón O Pote is based on classic Galician cuisine. Dishes rooted in tradition characterised by impeccable attention to detail and cutting-edge culinary techniques adapted to local produce.

Galician Designations of Origin (DO) and Protected Geographical Indications (PGI), including the magnificent Betanzos wine made from Branco Lexítimo variety and delicious culinary creations made from local produce come together to create memorable culinary moments.

Any reference to Betanzos immediately conjures up images of its award-winning potato omelette and the unique way in which it is prepared. And of course,  no mention of Mesón O Pote is complete without  highlighting its famous omelette, winner of the 2011 edition of Spain’s National Potato Omelette competition and the 2017 edition of the Tenerife National Potato Omelette Competition.
